“Hazard Communication Standard (HAZCOM/GHS)”

Presented by: Ted Austin – SC OSHA

Scope: This program covers employer’s and employee’s responsibilities as they relate to OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard and its alignment with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). Hazardous chemical inventory, safety data sheets, hazard assessments, labeling, and employee training requirements are discussed.

Presented by: Delany Johnson & Jay Hallaway

Delany Johnson graduated with Honors with an associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology in 1988, and completed continuing education for PLC technology at IUPUI in Indianapolis, IN.  Early in his career, Delany worked as an engineer designing and making AC and DC drives for many different industries.  He also did extensive work on 12VDC, 120VAC and 240VAC controls and systems for many different military and civilian applications.  Delany has spent the last 20 years in management, including sales, where he enjoys helping customers solve their problems.  In addition, Delany has learned burners inside and out, which has helped improve and enhance his company’s knowledge about electrical design.

Jay Hallaway is a 1987 graduate of South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. He has been employed by Alkota Cleaning Systems, Inc. and has been a valuable asset for the organization performing in various engineering capacities since November of 1987.

Delany currently serves as a Director on the CETA Board of Directors.  Delany and Jay both serve as members of the CETA Technical & Standards Committee.
